MINI PILGRIMAGE SHEPHERDSWELL TO DOVER
Meet at East Kent Railway Station. Follows the North Downs Way National Trail and the Via Francigena European Pilgrimage route, between Dover and Shepherdswell. Interesting historical insights as you walk. Return by train at own expense.

THE WHITE CLIFFS COASTAL TRAIL - DAY 2 DOVER TO DEAL
Meet at Dover Yacht Club on Dover sea front. A steep climb leads out of Dover. Cliff walk to St. Margaret’s Bay and the Dover Patrol Memorial, then on to Deal. Lunch at the Pines Garden Tea Room or bring your own. Regular return bus and train service available.

Meet at Kingsdown Road car park (opposite Granville Road). Children, bring your parents along to a thrilling smugglers’ walk! Dress up as a smuggler, paint your face and wear a hat! Get your loot from the pirates and smuggle it along a sea walk, out of sight of the nasty customs men! They will try to catch you!

Meet at the entrance to Deal Pier, walk across the cliffs to St. Margaret’s - at - Cliffe. On the way, be entertained by tales of dastardly doings on this stretch of coast, from pre- history to today. Suitable for adults and accompanied children of 8 years and over. Meet at the gatehouse at Connaught Barracks in Fort Burgoyne Road. A rare opportunity to explore the fort. Built in the 1860’s to defend the land to the north of Dover Castle, this site is now managed by The Land Trust who are conserving and opening the site to visitors.
